I have a couple of Uncles that have been working of the genealogy. I am a direct descendant of the Mayflower. Many of the first generations were related from there. One of my great uncles was killed in the Bunker Hill battle Revolutionary war. He said "Don't fire till you see the whites of there eyes". Years before that one of my ancestors was the butler to King Henry III, his two sons were exiled after 5 years in prison. They got to friendly with the queen, (lucky to have there heads).

Now famous I had a neighbor when I was little, I did not think much of him till after his death. Howard Egerton, he invented the strobe light, took the first picture of a bullet going through the apple. I used to work on his farm in the summers.

Can A Muslim Become A Good American Citizen

Can a good Muslim be a good American?
I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.

The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Koran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation.... perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans.

Call it what you wish.... it's still the truth.

If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

Pass it on Fellow Americans. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand.

apparently the man given credit for the invention of the jackalope (Douglas Herrick) is a distant relative. I find this fitting, considering the sense of humor we all seem to share

I am an all American Mutt! Just like the generations before me. However prior to that I think they all came from places like Germany, Itally, Ireland, England, some were native american (cherokee my great great grand mother was probablly our only pedigree as she was cherokee) Nordic decent .. although I doubt I inherited any of that. I'm the only person in my family under 6 ft tall. Yes that includes women... except for my sweet lil great great granny. She was short too. Oh and my fathers side were a lot of Italian and french decent. Either way the end result is me... woof!!!

Yep, that's definately "mutt" alright. LOL

Love the Tat BTW

About the only thing I can really lay claim too with any amount of confidence is Cherokee. My grand parents were both Cherokee, and spoke the language. As for the rest, well that's pretty much all "mutt."

As far as anyone famous in my family goes. Given the amount of adversity, and hardship my grandparents both lived through, including the depression, the dust bowl, and most of the time being just plain dirt poor. Even with all that they still managed to laugh, keep their sense of family, love and respect for one another in tact. Taking all that into account, they will always be famous in my mind.

French-Irish with just a taste of German.

My grandmother supposedly traced our lineage to Alexander Graham Bell, the telephone guy. But she was a little flaky, so I was never sure whether to believe her. But my family does go back at least 3 generations in Ontario that I know of, so who knows? Either way, I know I'm not gonna get a break on my ph0ne bill, so who cares?

My father played football for the Toronto Argos for a couple of years as a bench warmer. After his football 'career', he got into the garbage business (as management, not collection) and was instrumental in bringing the Blue Box recycling program to Ontario. My father was also president of the Lions Club in our home town and once a year they would have a sports banquet and invite a famous sports figure to speak, so as president, the duty of picking them up at the airport and entertaining them until the banquet fell to him. As a result, I was priveledged to meet some of the better known sports names of the day,Mickey Mantle, Bobby Orr...

My mother was a swimsuit model before she met my father and ruined her figure by knocking her up 4 times.

My grandfather has a hockey rink named after him in Niagara Falls. Does that count?

I grew up and went to school with Jim Carrey (Pet Detective dude) for about 6 years until he dropped out in grade 10 to persue some career in stand-up comedy. Wonder if he ever made anything of himself? LOL He and I got started in stand-up by the same high-school english teacher, but I quit due to lack of nerve.

My step-father was an engineer for almost 40 years and was well respected in his field. He also managed to stay married to my Mom for almost 30 years in spite of us brat kids trying to drive him crazy, before Cancer punched his ticket. His accomplishments IMHO, are more impressive and deserve more respect and admiration than anything that garners recognition in my family, he was the one who inspired me to persue my career in engineering.

I'm full blooded Scotch/Irish. Maybe with a mexican bartender in the wood pile somewhere. My (not sure how many greats I need here) grandfather was from Herefordshire England and was one of the first to bring Hereford cattle to the US. I guess that means I have a lotta Bull in my background?

Famous? I played baseball for the Yankee's double A club for 2 seasons. The Columbus Clippers in Ohio. I was'nt good enough to stay, lol.

Oh yeah, I did date jenny jones back when she was a stand up comedian before she made it big on TV.

To sum it up. I was a loser at baseball, unlucky at love, and good with cattle?

That's a scray thought!!! hehe
